View Full Version : [ubuntu] GIMPShop and Wacom tablet setup

From what I've seen, there's inbuilt support for Wacom Tablets already in Ubuntu. However, it seems that there's a need for further configuration, as my tablet responds to the pen being dragged along it's surface, but it isn't working as it normally should (the pen must be in contact with the tablet before any movement will occur).

How can I modify Wacom tablet settings and is there any article I could read up about configuring either an Intuos 3 or Cintiq for use in Ubuntu for GIMP, Inkscape, GIMPShop, etc, etc?

------------------------------

GIMPShop seems to only have a build for Debian currently, but it does have the source code available. I'm still very new to Ubuntu, and this will be the first time I have to compile source code to work on my Ubuntu setup, so I'm looking for advice on what compilers are already in Ubuntu and what commands I should use to compile the code. Any other related advice is also most welcome.

Hi cshard,

Please consult Loic2's wiki and its associated thread and resources at:

Hope this helps.
