installed application not listed in application menu

I installed an image resizer application called Squash using Synaptic Package Manager.But it didnt come up anywhere in the application menu.When I type Squash in the terminal the GUI comes up.What Should be done to add it to the MENU?

Go to System-->preferences-->Main Menu and select "add".
This will allow you to add a new launcher to your menu. type in the Name you want it to display as, as well as the command to launch it from the terminal - probably "squash" - and you can even select an icon for it.
