Hi there, I'm a n00b planning to install Ubuntu for the first time on my Vista 64-bit machine. I've read quite a bit about the installation of Interpid Ibex on Vista and it seems like installing the OS in the traditional way can cause problems for using a Vista-operated Boot Manager.

Still I'd like to keep all the stuff regarding my Ubuntu project on a separate virtual drive so is it a legit idea to use the easy Wubi installation to install the files on a totally blank NTFS partition?

Also, I've ordered an Ubuntu 8.10 LiveCD and I've read this now includes Wubi. Am I OK to use just the stuff on the LiveCD to install it this way on my 64-bit architecture?

Links to any installtion guides for my situation welcome...

wubi only installs under windows although u can later move that installation to a dedicated partition by using some utility as mentioned on FAQs on wubi website.
