I have an old PC sitting here with an itch waiting to be scratched. I have a hunch one of the hard disks is failing because it consistently fails system checks.
This has piqued my curiosity a bit, and I'd like to use this opportunity to get some diagnostics and recovery experience. Can anyone point me to Linux tools (maybe included with a lightweight live CD) for HD diagnostics information and recovery? Any tutorials or documentation would be appreciated too.
