Hi, I have searched but could not find the answer!

I have installed (eeebuntu) on my notepad... love it by the way!
So thought I'd have another go at getting unbuntu to work on my big lappy.
But on installing it, It comes with all kinds of apps I wouldn't / couldn't ever use.

My question is there a lean mean installation on ubuntu which is on a par with the "base" version of eeebuntu? I really don't want to start messing around with synaptic too much...(don't know what I'm doing)

Many thanks guys

You could use the mini.iso available here (http://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD), then install to the cli. After you've got a system running the cli you can just install the desktop manager and programs you need.
