hi guys,

I have few csv files that I need to import into my web site. But these files are seperated by comma and limited with double quote "text","another text" eg.

I need to change this seperation symobol from comma to something else like "^" and text limit symbols to "~"

is there a program that can help?

p.s. sorry this question may not be related to ubuntu but I don't know where else I can post it to.

Use gedit and search & replace the characters (a .csv file is just a text file)

Or open in OpenOffice - The import filter will ask you what characters define what - And then you can export/save as a new .csv file

Thankyou open office helped.

p.s. export didn't have the option but, I found out save as had the option.
