My HP T5700 has both USB1.1 AND USB2.0 ports but will only boot from the 1.1. I can boot a flash drive in the 1.1 port with the xubuntu iso "burned" on it and install from that to a USB hard drive on the 2.0 port. Rebooting the flash and selecting "Run installation on first hard drive" does not boot the usb hard drive, I suppose because the "first" hard drive is the preinstalled ROM in the IDE connector. The usb hard drive will boot in the 1.1 port.
Is there a way I can modify the flash drive in the 1.1 port to have it boot the usb hard drive in the 2.0 port?
