Dear All,

I am trying to install 8.10 on A Vaio Laptop with the intel x4500 graphics card and whenver i try to run the CD i have the usual white cloudy screen.

i install it using safe graphics mode and i get a 800x600 desktop but i don't know what to do to change the resolution to be able to make ubuntu usable.

any users with the same laptop who manged to solve this problem and get the 1600x900 resolution ?

Thanks

See this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6383897#post6383897

I think there is another, more recent post in the forums that explain how to get it working, but the link above is a starting point...
