Just curious, tell us what you got, what the spec's are and what distro it has....

If you didn't Do you plan on getting one, if so what are you looking at getting?

I got a Lenovo S10 netbook, 1.6 GHz Atom processor, 1GB RAM, , Windows XP Home, 135 GB HDD. Bought a bluetooth adaptor (the small rocketfish one) and bluetooth mouse and headset. No intentions to go to Linux with this machine in the near future. Only thing really holding me back is Steam which is coming to Linux so I will switch after that.

Wow, just realised I have no Linux computers ATM. My PSU blew a capicator in my desktop...... crap

No. Why would I buy a computer with Linux preinstalled when I can install it myself and configure it exactly how I want?

You don't have to...lol. It was just a question, I personally Don't go in for building, I Would just rather buy one. I'm considering one of the Zareason (http://www.zareason.com) system for my next purchase, But I haven't completely decided yet.

I did not, but I did install openSUSE 11.1 (http://www.opensuse.org/en/) on to my laptop.

The best part I liked about it is that the WPA/WPA2 personal wireless worked flawlessly from the Gnome liveCD, and so I decided to install it to the hard drive.

It tends to hang during boot, and I have to keep tapping the touchpad or a key like the backspace or the spacebar keys to have it continue to boot though.

Other than that, the wireless is working perfectly, and I also used The Perfect Desktop - OpenSUSE 11.1 (GNOME) (http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfect-desktop-opensuse-11.1-gnome) from HowtoForge (http://www.howtoforge.com/) as a base to get it set up. I did not install everything according to the tutorial, only the items I wanted.

It is a nice upgrade from the preinstalled Vista. \\:D/

In the next 6 Months or so I may be getting a new system in the house as such that will open up one to play with, I may try a few different distros on it just to check them out. I would like to check out suse for starters...

Why would I buy a computer with Linux preinstalled when I can install it myself and configure it exactly how I want? because you might have heard how great Ubuntu is but not know much about it. So, you might figure "ok, get something that works first, and figure out how to adapt it later."

That what I did.

She got me a IdeaPad S10e (http://www.pc.ibm.com/uk/notebook/netbook.html), a black beauty with SLED 10 preinstalled. SLED was a bit outdated and I installed UMPC 8.10 which runs my new precious nicely. I am however still flirting with openSuse 11.1.
