I write this in response to an item on the ubuntu-uk podcast.

I feel it would be useful to have a repository of promotional documents and general good quotes etc to be used by us ubuntu / open source evangelists to aid us when we are trying to sell the idea of ubuntu to our friends, family, colleges, companies etc.

Hello,

You can just say to them that :

Its Free.
Its Stable.
Once You Configure The System You ll Almost never have to worry again.
It doesn't have blue screens with yellow or white letters :p
Its difficult to get a virus.
Its safer.
Its Faster.
It has great community support.
It works good in old machines.
You can have it with you all the time if you have a flash disk.
They can test it and learn how to use without installation
They can make it look like win
They can have better fx than vista has

and much more.

your idea is good i don't know if something like a brochure for new users exists but i would like to c one.
I am always installing ubuntu on my new clients computers and after a few days they are always thanking me.

I think that at some point I read that there was such in existence - might have been through the uk mailing list.

Join it and ask them :)

I think it was discussed at the last Developer Summit.
