View Full Version : [gnome] How can I reset the shortcut system?

Hi,

I have a Logitech Media Elite keyboard, which worked perfectly from day 1 with all multimedia keys. Since yesterday I'm using the VX Revolution mouse and I've lost some of the multimedia shortcuts :(

The most annoying one is the mute button. Volume up and down works, but not mute... Homepage and bookmarks work, but not play/pause, stop, forward, previous.

Those buttons are recognised by the system (there is an output with xev for example) and I can set the shortcuts normally using System > Preferences > Keyboard shortcut. But when I use those keys, the selected action isn't launched.

I'm wondering if that could have been caused by the installation of hidpoint: I thought I needed that for the mouse because it didn't work at the beginning but I finally removed hidpoint and all mouse buttons work.

Has anybody already seen something like that?

Hi,

they appeared again after an update last week, probably involving a kernel recompile. Problem fixed :)
