The above is from the Gentoo page but it should apply to any of the same Acer laptops or any laptop with said modem. I am wondering what the status might be for that particular modem when used in Intrepid or Hardy. Whatever would install and work. I was wondering if using a more recent kernel might help in a better supported driver for the modem.

Thanks in advance for any info or confirmations!

P.S. The wireless card must work by now, huh? I understand Broadcom wireless cards were problematic but maybe the drivers for these are built into the more recent kernel?
