The original doom (http://www.kongregate.com/games/mike_id/doom-1) is online. It was made into a flash game and requires flash 10 (http://www.kongregate.com/games/mike_id/doom-1#game_instructions) to play it.

is it free to download legally anywhere?

(OT Command and Conqure (the original) is now there for free legal download)

I don't know about the full game, but I'm fairly certain that Episode 1 (the first six or seven levels) is available for free download, yet the only sites I can find don't seem "official".

That said, this new flash-based online Doom is good news. I'll be looking forward to playing it during the quiet hours of work next week.

I have Flash 10,0,20,7, but all I get is a black window, no Doom.
