...I can't seem to get Ubuntu's naming schemes down nor easily
find any Google results. What is what for 6.06, 8.0-4 and 8.10?
It's irksome to be reviewing docs referring to particular versions
by name and then have to translate that to the more proper release
number. Thanks!

one simple method is that they are alphabetical. 6.04 dapper drake , 7.0 feisty fawn, 7.10 gutsy gibbon, 8.04 hardy heron, 8.10 intrepid ibex, and the next is jaunty jackalope.
