With all the great work Canonical and the Ubuntu team are doing with the distro, I think it would be awesome to create a branch of Ubuntu to support breast cancer awareness. Maybe a portion of the CDs and merchandise proceeds could go to the Susan G. Komen for the CureŽ.

Anyone want to share their thoughts on the matter?

Will never happen.

Why would it not happen? We have seen Ubuntu Christian Edition, Muslim Edition, Satanic Edition and others, why not something to help support a cause that is as worthwhile as Linux itself?

Those are user initiatives.

Those aren't official distros.

Sure someone can make that distro, but it won't be Canonical.

I see what you mean. So, Canonical does make the branched distros, just Ubuntu. It is still something I would like to see *grin*

Canonical makes/supports Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Edubuntu and Xubuntu.

The rest are made by people who aren't associated with Canonical.

I thought Xubuntu was by the community. Not Canonical. Maybe I'm wrong?
