I've been having a bit trouble lately since I disabled compiz, thinking that would save some ram ( I have 4gigs but I do a lot of rendering ). Gnome went biserk today when I tried to add a drawer to panel. Sometimes it will freeze when opening calculator. See screenshots. Any suggestions, besides going back to DesktopBSD? :lolflag:

PS: I have DesktopBSD with kde on my guest pc, it stays on 24/7/365 and has no problems. It is also a webserver when we have no guests. 6.5 load for a year without reboot ( child bumped reset ). Why is Unix so much more stable? Perhaps I'll start another thread....

EDIT: Nautilus just told me I have 30 screenshot-6.png files. I checked again and I had one. Maybe I should check to see if I'm running Windows? hum....

EDIT: I rebooted and the typing thing went away. Anyone help? Man on island here...

PLEASE HELP! I don't want to run kde because I like Gnome style more. Running Rat poison window manager with 4gb ram is pathetic( no pun intended ). please help, thanks!

I am not a guru, so only taking a simple guess here, but try typing in terminal:

metacity --replace
