Hi,
In an Xfce session, is is possible, and if so how, to have xfce panel transparency working with openbox/xcompmgr running instead of xfwm? All other transparencies work except for the panels.

Thank you.

EDIT: transset works but I keep my panels hidden, so I have to edit panel properties, unhide them, set transparency using transset, then hide them again. Very annoying having to do it every time I log in.

Well it is possible to change the background (to a transparent picture) on the panel by editing the .gtkrc-2.0 file in your home directory, exactly how I don't know. You might want to use Google now...

Setting a transparent image as background doesn't work. I tried various transparency schemes, colours and file formats. Also, the icons remain unaffected by the image as does the background of some plugins.

I've googled a number of times trying to find a solution to this but so far no luck.
