downloading Ubunto

I have an old Toshiba Laptop that im trying to resurrect. It was designed for Windows 98 someone has installed XP. The machine has only 164 Ram (which is the max) The platform is Pentium 2. As you can imagine the operation is extremely slow.

In order to increase speed and free up disk spaceI want to install Kbuntu "Barely minimum" can anyone provide me with step by step instructions. I attempted to do so downloading utorent without success.
