KDE4 & Xinerama

I have xinerama working to a point.

I can drag windows and even panels to my second desktop. However, there is no "desktop" there - I can't right click on the second desktop, and I can't add a wallpaper. Any tips?

Really, KDE 4.2 is still so buggy that I'm surprised it was shipped as default in 8.10.

Well, "solved". I added a panel to the second screen (holding the system tray) and after rebooting the screen loaded with wallpaper, and right clicking on the desktop worked.
