Which is better?

I am going to buy a laptop soon........I have two options: an Acer Extensa and a Compaq (both have almost the same specifications....however there is one advantage whic the acer has: a 1 year warranty). Which one's better?

I would go with the acer, there are 2 of them in my direct family at the moment, they seem pretty solid. No problems whatsoever.

The longer the warranty, easier the choice and better the deal. But that's just me. Laptops are not properly things in which you want to have a short warranty period. But like I said, that's just my way of thinking.
