Install failed and No Firefox!

Okay... its a Intel P4 2.0mhz, 2 GB Ram, 80 GB + 40GB hard drives. I'm installing the Ubuntu on the 80 GB. It works fine live cd mode other then firefox not loading, during install gets to 44% then fails saying the CD files are currupted. Tried re-downloanding and burning files, same result any ideas?

check that the md5sum (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM) matches after downloading before burning, then burn at x4 or less and check the cd for defects (option 5 I think at the main menu of the live cd)
