Hi all,

As a relative newbie, I have a coupla q's.

1/ Why does my signal strength seem much lower than when I use XP (about 30-50% LOWER)?

2/ Using wicd, even with the appropriate boxes ticked, when I loose service the gui tells me that there are no available wireless networks. Odd when I'm sitting right next to one! Refreshing doesn't help either, only a complete re-boot. The same prob is not experienced with Network Manager.

I'm using an Asus WL-107g card in an Acer Aspire 3000 laptop. Intrepid (8.10)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Bump. Just point 2 now, as I seem to have resolved the first one now after following a fix from a similar post.
