Did a normal upgrade (Kubuntu 8.10 KDE 4.2 beta) and got a message that the display setting had changed. The display was not visible in the display settings and when I rebooted the screen was black from start. No signal, not even a bios screen?

The machine is a Asus P2-M2A690G with ATI x1250 motherboard graphics. Only hdmi out so can not test with vga.

Could a upgrade couse this to happen? I can't see how it can change the bios from accessing the display? If the hdmi port is down it is strange that it happend right after a upgarde and why was the screen visible until I rebooted? Any clues, or how do I fix it, tried to boot from cd but same result of course.

Edit: The VGA ports works so it's a HDMI issue. Strange - will try to get the HDMi working
