guys my laptop cd is broken so I proceed to install over the network, after downloading the alternate cd and putting its content on a server, I downloaded the boot.img.gz, unconpress it
gunzip boot.img.gz and put it in the thumb drive
dd if=boot.img of=/dev/sdc when I proceed booting my laptop I get "boot error" needless to say that my laptop is capable of booting from a thumb drive just fine as I tested other 2 drives and it boots just fine... could anyone tell me what could I do, to get this network install going?
