Hello,

I just upgraded, among other things, Firefox to 3.0.5 from 3.0.4. and now any action I do in Firefox causes my CPU to jump to 75-100%, lagging the whole system and causing my laptop to get seriously hot. Trying to close the process via System Manager says that Firefox is taking up only 40% CPU while System Manager takes up 40-50% CPU. Even running the mouse over my bookmarks causes lag. This has never happened before. I am using firefox right now and it's a serious pain.

Update manager provided approx. 10-15 updates this morning, so I don't even know if Firefox is the problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Run top in the terminal and monitor it as you use your computer. This will at least help determine if firefox really is the problem (sounds like it though).
