Appearance changing does not work

Hello

I had a problem that metacity was not loading and meant that I could move, close and minimize windows. I solved this but going into the Synpatic Package Manager and reinstalling MetaCity, however I now stuck with a basic blue theme that is all clunky, however I cannot change it, I have gone into the Appearance section and I click on all the theme but it does not change them, if it does it does not change all of it and the icons never change.

The next time you log in, there is an option box in the lower left corner. Choose session > gnome, and then sign in, it should recover it. :p
