I needed to install adobe flash player for a web page and now whenever in is playing a video from any site using flash the whole system will become stuttery and freeze for short periods. i have looked at my system usage and have noticed that the processor is running at 100% when this happens everything else is normal. i don't have an amazing computer (amd athlon 3600+, 1 gig or ram) but powerful enough to run flash.

it is the latest version of flash that i installed (v10) and used the Ubuntu labelled download from the adobe page. I have installed Ubuntu v8.04 on its own partition with 3.5gig swap and have done all the updates. the only problem with my system that might be related is a unsupported ATI graphics card.

thanks for any help

fixed this by installing the vesa driver. it was a graphics card problem.
