I downloaded Ubuntu 8.10 two days ago. I checked it with MD5SUM and everything matched. I downloaded the Infra Recorder and made a disk. I have 2 disks...1 made with the "data" setting nd the other with the "image" setting. I have an E-Machine running Windows and a year ago I had a dual boot system with Ubuntu 7.04 that worked. My system is set to boot first from a cd. I burned both of these disks on CD-RW disks and am wondering if this is the reason they will not boot. Before I used a CD-R. Must these be on CD-R to work? I just ordered a factory disk but didn't want to wait.

No, they don't have to be CD-R; CD-RW works just fine.

I'm not familiar with the product you mentioned. Suggest you grab ImgBurn and use that. Here's a link to their website:

Sorry for asking, but you did burn the ISO image to disk, not just copy it, right?

You just need to burn the iso image.

Just select burn image file, and select your iso file.:p
