Does anyone know of any way to mimic/copy the system menu from xubuntu's desktop into Ubuntu? I really like the ability and ease to right click and access my menu from the desktop and would like to copy this over to Ubuntu. Thank you for any help!

You can right-click in Xubuntu on the desktop and access applications/etc? That's new to me.

A screenshot would be nice.

hi esmurdo

that menu is called a 'root menu' (root as in root window, not root account), and as far as I know its only a feature of window managers like enlightenment, fluxbox, and xfce.

its possible to use openbox or fluxbox as the window manager for gnome, but I've never done that myself, so I can't supply the details.

gnome itself does not have that feature, unfortunately.
