Hi, I know there are threads about this, I tried most of the suggested solutions but still no luck.
I have an ASUS x59sr laptop with sis chipset and sis190 ethernet card. Under ubuntu 8.10 the card is recognized, it seem to work, I can assign an address, it detects when the cable is unplugged and I can ping my address but I can't ping anything else.

I tried it at home connected to another pc it won't work, I even tried it on my faculty and it gets all the stuff from the DHCP server, address, gateway and nameservers, but still I can't ping anything.

At home the wireless card does the same thing. The wireless is an Atheros ar928x (as detected by Windows), I can assign address, it connects automatically to my home wireless network but I cant ping the other PC.

Maybe it's a software error but I have no firewall rules set up on ubuntu, it's a fresh install.

Thanks.
