Hi

I'm going to try installing Ubuntu on my Sony Vaio laptop. Is there anything I need to take into account first? I assume it's the same process as with a desktop install?? (LiveCD? then click install)

Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio NR10E laptop with Intrepid Ibex running (single boot) perfectly.
The only thing is that you will probably need ndiswrapper for your wifi card which works satisfactorily.
Good Luck.

If you have never used Linux before it would be a good idea to physically remove the hard drive and put it away in a box for safe keeping.

Fit a new blank hard drive.

This might sound extreme but there are a number of very good reasons for doing so.
