Updates won't install.

The update bar at the top of my screen constantly says that I have updates I need to install. When I click it, and install the updates, it comes back that there are a bunch that could not be retrieved.

Among these failed updates are those for Evolution, Amarok (which I deleted, and now cannot reinstall), and Firefox, to name a few. It comes to a total of 114 that cannot be retrieved.

also, it won't let me configure my wireless internet settings.

Then check for software sources in System->Administration->Software Sources,in Ubuntu Software Tab Check for the Download from Option.It must be set to the server near to you.

never mind I see you have updates for deleted packages.
