Two of the most common docks are Avant Window Navigator and Cairo-Dock.

This link describes how to install cairo-dock.

I prefer Cairo-Dock...besides it's easier to set up and configure in my opinion...

Check this post (http://ubuntudawn.wordpress.com/2008/09/14/who-put-the-mac-in-the-ubuntu/) I made on my blog. You might find it useful.

I believe Cairo-Dock is more flexible too, not to mention it uses less resources than Avant-Window-Navigator. (At least when I tried it back in April AWN was a resource killer...Cairo wasn't).

Err, yes you can. The link explains how.

You have to add a repository to the ones you already have and then get it from Synaptic Package Manager, or the command line if you prefer.

Also check out gnome-look.org for lots of different stuff like icon sets, etc...(or kde-look.org if you use kde)
