Hi there, really getting nuts with vmware on ubuntu, everytime they have kernel or new version upgrade, we will have problem, after upgraded to 8.10, vmware cannot start anymore, after searching online and saw some helps and howto, i downloaded the vmmon, vmblock and vmnet, after compiling, it seems i can reach the vmware interface, but when i click power on this virtual machine, i will get this "version mismatch with vmmon module: expecting 167.0, got 169.0. you have an incorrect version of the 'vmmon' kernel module. try reinstalling vmware workstation.", then another error come on "failed to initialize monitor device", after that it will be "unable to change virtual machine power state: cannot find a valid peer process to connect to." has anyone manage to get it done? i have tried reinstalling and uninstalling a few times, all does not work for me.
