Looking at the release notes, there seems to be quite a few bugs with 8.10 ... is this still the case, should I wait a little while before upgrading? Quite a few posters seem to have gone back to Hardy...

Also, is it worth upgrading - what are the key differences - anything that I'd want as a regular home user? (Use Word, Internet, skype, later Wine/Warcraft)

I may have to re-install anyway as I think I've picked the wrong distro, I realised I've got an AMD64. THough I couldn't see Ubuntu for AMD64 on the list, only Kbuntu. Do I NEED the 64 version?

I've got 8.04 Kernel 2.6.24-22-generic

Processor is an AMD Turion 64 Mobile ML-30.

You are fine with amd64. If I have an OS that works and I like; I keep it.

Ok, thanks. I guess I'll stick with this one till I have a good reason to change.

It's running just fine. Its so simple to find things - I feel a bit like I'm back using Dos and Windows 3.1 but it's prettier!
