Updated my mythbuntu backend to 8.10 and gvim stopped working. Any ideas? Strace says it trying to do some sort of blocking read (attached).

Similarly, just installed 8.10 as part of making a laptop dual-boot, and wanted gvim. No sign of gvim in synaptics, and the system message was
prompt:~$ sudo apt-get install vim

A casualty of the upgrade? let's see whether anyone actually knows ...
