hello all,

i'm having a bit of a problem with installing ubuntu on my new laptop. I need to add acpi=off to the install options to make it start the installer, else it just hangs at "Please Wait...". But when it is done loading (the orange bar), it stops at the shell "ubuntu@ubuntu:". How can i make the graphical installer to continue or is there another way to make it install ubuntu?

My Laptop Specs:
AMD Turion X2 ZM80
4GB of RAM
Running Windows Vista
1 strange vista partition, 1 C partition and a Data partition. I want to install ubuntu besides that.

also, when i try to start ubiquity from the shell it says "Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:" and then returns to the shell.
The laptop has a Radeon HD4350 graphics card, maybe thats the problem...
