Hello Folks:
I am using virtualbox 2.06 on windows host and created a Ubuntu 8.10 Guest. The only problem I am facing is not able to install Guest additions. I have followed all the instructions mentioned in the manual and researched many of the user forums.
Precedure I followed:
1. Click on Devices and install guest additions.
2. Nothing happens
3. When I do a cd /media. I do not see any contents. As per the document or other forum instructions I should see something called /media/cdrom0. Unfortunately I do not see any contents under cd /media.
4. I have tried the option of mounting CD/DVD rom from the menu.
Mount CD/DVD-ROM and select CD/DVD-ROM Image. I get the window to select the image. I select the guest addtiions.iso.
Once this is done, I do not see anything under /media.
5. I have tried restarting the VM image. Still no luck.
6. I have also tried updating the linux headers and still no luck.
Please help me in installing the Guest additions for Ubuntu Guest on windows xp host.
