Okay so I just installed a fresh version of Ubuntu 8.10 on my machine however it was unable to install my Linksys wireless of course (WMP54GS)
I can't access the wired ethernet right now so I can't download Cabextract which is what is suggested for installing the right drivers for my network card.

So my question is, is there a CD available that has tons of applications that I can pop into my computer and get cadextract and other such programs without having to bring my computer elsewhere to get a connection?

Thanks a lot.

Don't know about CDs but if you have external HDD or USB-thumbdrive, you could try to use ndiswrapper to install the Windows-drivers for it and it should work. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper
