Maybe I'm blind, but how do you do something as simple as changing the font color of the top gnome panel? I'm using Ibex at the moment with the Emerald window decorator and Compwiz-fusion. I think gnome-color-chooser only works with GTK so I don't think I can use that.
I managed to figure this out on an old installation of Hardy but I forgot how. Help is appreciated.

Didn't work for me it seems (even after logging out and in). Though I wouldn't want to change the color of ALL of my panels anyway.

I actually I figured it out. I guess I AM blind. You can do it easily through gnome-color-chooser, from synaptic. Once you start it up, you go to the "panel" tab and text color is the "foreground" color. Just don't forget to click on "apply" once you make the changes in order to see the change right away.
Apparently the gnome panel is still under GTK control even when you're running Emerald.
