I have the xubuntu disk burnt and am trying to load it on my Dell Inspiron 1000. I put it in the disk drive, shut it off, turn it on, but instead of loading the cd, it just goes right into windows xp

Its a labtop btw.

Please help, ty

(The disk is working because it worked on one of my really old desktops)

One thing to check is the boot order in the BIOS. It might not have booting from CD enabled. You can usually get into the BIOS settings by pressing F1 or F2 when the BIOS screen appears.
