Hi -
I decided to upgrade my desktop yesterday (using a whole lot of what I already had - just a new mobo though). However, upon assembling the mobo and re-installing ubuntu 8.04, when I fire up the computer, my screen goes blank - I don't have the grub. At this point, I am really confused what the issue might be.

The following are the details of my new system -
Motherboard - Asus M2N-SLI
Processor - AMD Athlon 64X2 4000+
System RAM - 6GB
OS - Ubuntu 8.04 i386
Graphics card - Realtek GT7300
2 Physical HDD (installed Ubuntu on both)

The following is how I assembled the PC and trying to fire up -
Assembled all components
Fired up the PC with Ubuntu in the CD-ROM
Installed Ubuntu on the first HDD
Removed the CD (after installation)

On boot up - my screen goes blank??
Any one out there that can help?

Thanks,
DB

I believe I may have solved the issue - I tried booting up using one drive at a time and it seems to be working fine.

Thanks,
DB
