im completely new to linux in everyway. i just installed ubuntu in virtualbox with kernel 2.6.22-14 once booted up i got a popup saying that i have out of date software, so naturally i updated everything that was checked by default, which included a kernel update to 2.6.22-16. but after a reboot, when i log in there is no gui, its just a blank screen. i rebooted and ran the the older kernel but i still get the same problem.
initially after the updates were finished and installed a few error messages appeared but said "configuration will not be changed"
im not sure what more information you need.
is there anyway to undo the changes or am i going to have to reinstall ubuntu?
cheers
