I'm trying to install a Canon MP210 scanner printer in Intrepid. I have all of the drivers installed and the scanner works. However, I can't get the printer configured. There is a blank line that reads "Enter Device URI". I am completely lost on what this means or what to enter. How can I find this information? What do I need to do to get my printer going?

I tried doing it the CUPS way. I have CUPS installed but when I go to http://localhost:631 I get the following:

Failed to Connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:631.

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

I do not have any routers or firewalls. I'm not using a proxy and My printer is not networked. It's a simple USB cable hooked from the computer to the printer. Believe me, I have made extenisve use of google, this site, kfn, and everywhere I can think of to search. No matter what I try, I keep hitting a brick wall.
