I remember trying to get my HUAWEI E220 usb modem under Feisty.
What a TOTAL nightmare!!

So today, took receipt of my new E220, plugged it in. Gnome/Ubuntu found it, told me about it and then asked me to click twice and it was installed.

So, so easy...

:KS :p

Big thanks to all the devs, Linux is coming w00t

Yeah, Network Manager 0.7 rocks. Getting my Huawei e180 to work in 8.04 was kind of a bitch, but in 8.10 it works great.

Using my nokia 6300 for mobile gprs internet also works perfectly! Just had to plug it in and select it from the networkmanager menu and I was connected.

NM7 has been a big improvement, indeed. It makes the Huawei E220 to run perfectly. But I wasn't so succesful with Huawei E180.

Please NEVON (or someone else interested), would you have a look on my post here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6374775#post6374775) about the E180, and tell us if you are running into similar problems?

I've been using my Samsung Blackjack II for internet every now and then.

It's slow, but that's because I don't always get 3G. Otherwise, it's total win.
