My 300GB HD has been full and my computer in need of a fresh install for a while now, but as of last week my computer has been freezing frequently and now when I boot I get disc read errors in DOS and can't start, but if I try again and again 1/10-20times it will read my hard drive and I can run my cpu fine, browse files play video, use the internet etc then I'm on a timer until it freezes again.
I just fixed my roommates laptop and used Ubuntu on the OS install and loved it and wine. So I tried to install Ubuntu and partition manager doesn't show anything, but I can run my computer/internet fine from the CD and when I try to install Windows again it doesn't recognize anything either?
Anything I can do before I go order a new hard drive?
