Hi. Sometimes, when I boot up, the icons on my desktop are all scrunched into the top-left region of my desktop, and I can only move them a certain distance to the right or down. My standard resolution is 1680x1050, but it seems like Gnome thinks the resolution is 1024x768, or something like that, and I can't move my icons outside the 1024x768 range. If I had any icons oustide of that region, they get shoved inside the box. The resolution is correct, everything looks good. It's just that I can't place my icons outside this bounding box.
The problem goes away if I change the resolution to something else and then change it back.
Any idea what's going on here?
Like I said, it only happens sometimes, but it's quite annoying.
