I just tried to edit the menu "Application" under Gnome main menu, the left most button be default on Ubuntu desktop. I right clicked and selected "Edit Menu" option. But I failed to delete one item and the menu editor was stunk over there. Later, I found there nothing in the "Application" any more.

I couldn't figure out which configuration file has been modified. Can you help me recover it?

Go to your home folder

/home/yourusername//.config/menus/applications.menu )

Delete the following

/.config/menus/applications.menu

but i just felt this is very weird. Why would it happen? I think Gnome team should fix this bug.
