Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend any good software sites such as getdeb.net and appnr.com

I think these site are top but would just wondering if anyone could also recommend any others?

Why does this forum not have a recommended sites section?

Of course it's not Ubuntu specific.

That has windows apps and shows you the alternates for ubuntu.

It has several listed.

i'm so biased and opportunistic

http://ppa-search.appspot.com/

that is where you search for PPA repos. you could also download individual deb packages from the respective archive pages.

Ofcourse for security, first check the ubuntu synaptic manager(ubuntu server), because this is safe.

All software from other site's could be unsafe, so if you need the latest version of a program(maybe because new options), then install it, otherwise do not do it.

All the software on the ubuntu server are tested, the newer version are not.
