Hi!
I would like to know how I can experience KDE4 (have it already), but still manage to clear out all those unneeded applications. Plus, I have a lot of KDE3 applications, I'd like to remove them without losing every one of them. In fact, I'd like to experience KDE3 and KDE4 together on the same desktop. Anyway, the whole goal is to keep the desktop, and a few apps, while keeping my system a little lighter, to speed up the upgrade process and such next time around.

I use GNOME normally, but I like to try the others every once in a while.

Also, is there a way to stop KDE from starting applications, such as AWN and compiz, that you only want under GNOME?
